Heart of Dallas is a new nonprofit organization that hosts sports and entertainment events benefiting Dallas charities.

The official launch event is the Heart of Dallas Bowl presented by PlainsCapital Bank on January 1, 2013 at Cotton Bowl Stadium. Demonstrating Heart of Dallas' commitment to its home city, net profits from the inaugural event will benefit charities serving the homeless population in Dallas.

The 2013 event lineup also includes the Dr Pepper Dallas Cup in March, a downtown concert series in the fall and the Heart of Dallas Classic during the opening weekend of the State Fair of Texas® in September. The Heart of Dallas Classic, which will be played on September 28, will feature Army against Louisiana Tech at the historic Cotton Bowl and will honor the armed forces.

By staging “must-attend” sports and entertainment programming, Heart of Dallas hopes to raise community consciousness of compelling causes and to inspire Dallas millennials to become the next generation of influencers and philanthropists.
